WELCOME TO MY STUDIO
ABOUT ME
I am local artist based in Exmouth working from my home studio. I have always had a love of the visual arts and finally realised my dream of studying for a fine art degree, which I completed last year. My inspiration to paint comes from the natural environment surrounding us and my love of the ever changing colours of the seas and skies.
My abstract and semi-abstract paintings are my attempt to convey to the viewer my feelings and memories from observing these special shores around us.
I have exhibited work in Exeter, Taunton, Bristol and Utah, USA and currently have work exhibiting in The Seascape Gallery in the Manor Hotel in Exmouth, Devon.
MY STORY
I’ve always been drawn to water, whether it’s the sea, a lake, a stream or river. I’ve been lucky enough to live near the sea or a lake for most of my life and when I haven’t been able to, I feel lost and like I’m in the middle of nowhere.
I’ve moved around a lot since being married and finally moved back home a few years ago. I live really close to the sea again and find myself looking out across the water at least once a day.
It’s like having a soothing bath on your soul when your day has been chaotic. I never tire of seeing the sunset or the moons reflection on the water and I am always trying to capture the feeling that washes over me in my work.
The whole of the Devon and Cornish coast is a constant inspiration for me from crashing waves on rocks, texture of the sand or Budleigh’s pebble beach.

I would love to chat to you about any paintings that you are thinking of and if you can visit my home studio in Exmouth or The Seascape Gallery at The Manor Hotel, Exmouth to see them in person, that would be great, however if you can't come in person, maybe you would like a video call to see the painting and meet me and we can arrange how I get the painting to you and set up a bank transfer for payment.
